Koko Kalango with  Adaobi Nwaubani (One of the authors on the longlist for the Nigeria Prize for Literature


The 11 longlisted writers for the NLNG (Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas) sponsored Nigeria Prize for Literature were treated to a Book Party organized by CORA (Committee Of Relevant Artists) on the 28th of July, at the SHELL Hall, MUSON Centre, Lagos. Since 2010 this event has been a platform for the writers to engage with the public around their books. This year,  the $100,000 is for children’s literature. The Longlisted books are: A Hero’s Welcome by Ndidi Enenmor, Boom,Boom by Jude Idada, Buried Beneath the Baobab Tree by Adaobi Tricia Nwabuani, Double ‘A’ for Adventure by Anisa Daniel-Oniko,Ginika’s Adventures by Nnenna Ochiche, Igho Goes to farm by Anote Ajeluorou, Mystery at Ebebnezer’s Lodge by Dunni Olatude, Obioma: A Girl’s Journey to Self Discovery by Nkiru Uzoh, She Calls Him Daddy by Oladele Medaiyesye, Spurred Surprises by Lami Adejoh Opawale, The Great Walls of Benin by O.T.Begho.
A shortlist of three will be announced in September. And a winner will emerge in October.
