RAINBOW BOOK CLUBS IN FOCUS – HILLTOP GRADE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, PORT HARCOUT & PORT HARCOURT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

We visited the book club at the Hilltop Grade School on Wednesday 15th May. Here book clubs run for both the junior and senior categories. It was their free reading day so each child was allowed to pick any book of their choice and read within the hour. We noted that the students read and spelt very well with minimal guidance from the facilitators. The Rainbow Book Club at Hilltop Grade International School is one of the 200 book clubs set up during the Port Harcourt World Book Capital year (2014-2015).

Book Club sessions are a part of the weekly activities at the Port Harcourt International School and holds across all classes. We spent time reading with the students and engaging them in spelling bees for the duration of the class on Thursday, 16th May. It was a wonderful experience as all students actively participated in the Book Club activities.
