RAINBOW BOOK CLUB AT THE LAGOS BOOK FIESTA

On the 23rd of July, the 2nd Annual Lagos Book Fiesta- ‘Profiles at the Lagoon’ held at Freedom Park, Lagos. This outing was a gathering of writers and artists. The Keynote address titled “The Inimitable Use of the English Language by Amos Tutuola: The Poetic Effects in Poetry, Song, Dance & Drum, and Drama” was delivered by Professor Samuel Oladije Asobele. Select individuals, including Amb. Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosumu, daughter of the nationalist Obafemi Awolowo, were awarded ‘The Tutuola Palm for Poetry’ award. Anote Ajeluorou also presented his book “Igho Goes to Farm”, on that occassion. This book is one of those longlisted for the Nigerian Prize for Literature.
