The primary school finals of the 8th edition of the spelling Bee competition hosted by the Rotary Club of Trans-Amadi held on the 8th of March 2018. Over 200 primary schools participated in the competitions and a total of 49 students, made it to the final leg
The air around the event was both tense and exciting as each participant anticipated each word and the crowd cheered when answered correctly. It was a tough call for the judges as most participants kept spelling each word accurately. The children where finally skimmed down to 13 and three winners (all female) emerged. The first prize went to Miss Kristin Onoja of Aladumo International School. It was a delight to see her take the crown from her predecessor Ethan Anwana who is also an Aladumo pupil.
Rainbow Book Club’s sponsorship came in form of t-shirts, mugs, and books. Both the children and the winning schools benefitted
The Rainbow Book Club founder, Mrs. Koko Kalango, presented certificates of participation to the pupils who made it to the finals.
