To celebrate World Poetry day (March 21), the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) in collaboration with the Port Harcourt Literary Society (PHLS) organised an inter-secondary school competition which held at the Port Harcourt Book Centre.

Special guests at the programme where Chairman Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Mr Uzo Nwamara representing Prof. Joseph Ajienka and RSTV Keynote Speaker and Pastor Dafini Gogo Abbey, Mrs Koko Kalango, (Founder Rainbow Book Club)and Mrs Priye Elechi Amadi who all made remarks. This was followed by outstanding poetic performances by talented poets including students from the 15 participating schools.

Mrs Koko Kalango, Founder, Rainbow Book Club in her address encouraged the audience to keep literary activity in Port Harcourt alive, building on the legacy of Port Harcourt as World Book Capital. She announced that Rainbow Book Club was working towards a book festival this year.

Certificate of participation were given to participating schools and gifts were presented to the winners of the competition.
