As part of its ‘Leaders Read ‘programme geared towards boosting interests in books and reading in the younger generation, the Rainbow Book Club once again teamed with the Rivers State Ministry of Education to organise a reading for public school children tagged ‘Rivers State Reads’. The reading was held to mark this year’s children’s day and had the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi as special guest.
The Governor read to pupils of Army Children School, GRA, Port Harcourt from Patience Ezinwoke’s “The Lost Beach” which highlighted the decaying state of the Port Harcourt Tourist Beach. He also interacted with the pupils and answered their keen questions.
Last year, the Governor read to pupils of Port Harcourt Primary School to mark the Children’s Day.
