This holiday, the Rainbow Book Club establishes Book Clubs for children in primary and secondary schools across Port Harcourt. This throws open an opportunity to children whose schools are not covered in the PH UNESCO World Book Capital Book Club programme to take part in the thrills and excitement of the programme. It also promises to be fun as it will take place at venues different from their regular school environments.
The book club is open to pupils in senior primary and students in junior and senior secondary schools and will run from 4th to 29th August (4 weeks). Each Book Club (in the three categories) will meet for an hour once a week, from 10am to 11am. The Summer Book Clubs will hold at different locations; the Rainbow Book Club at 20 Igbodo Street; Springfield Nursery/Primary School at 30 Harold Wilson Drive, Borokiri and the Port Harcourt Polo Club at Tombia Road, GRA. Also on the list are the Jubilee Library at 17 Afam Street, D/line and the Central Library at 3 Bernard Carr Street, Town.
Registration forms are available at Rainbow Book Club and Springfield Nursery/ Primary School. Cost of Registration is N15,000 only per participant.
Every Club member gets a copy of each selected book, companion worksheets for each book, PH WBC 2014 branded souvenirs and a certificate of participation.
