RAINBOW TAKES A CLASS AT ALAKIJA’S ‘UNIVERSITY OF MARRIAGE’
The Rainbow Book Club on the 23rd of June 2017, held its monthly book reading at Le Meridian Ogeyi Place, Port Harcourt. The book in focus was University of Marriage by Mrs. Folorunso Alakija. Present at the reading were various married and single individuals who gave their intelligent and honest opinion of the book relating some of the author’s points and examples to real life experiences and bible verses.
The Moderator of the reading, Mrs Amie Georgewill spoke on the benefits of trust in every marriage and the roles of men and women in a home. Debates on the positive and negative effects of the western way of life to many marriages were extensively discussed.
Mrs Bimbo was of the opinion that the fact that the 21st century woman now strives to be financially comfortable has reduced the female dependency on her male counterpart and has therefore changed a lot of things in the 21st century marriage.
Single people present at the reading also weighed in on the discussion as most of them spoke on their understanding of marriage, the concept of true love and the roles of men and women to the growth of a family.
The book reading not only created an environment for an intelligent and productive discussion on relationship, marriage and the roles of men and women to the growth of a family but also exposed the single audience on how best to apply and survive in a University where no one ever graduates from-MARRIAGE.
