MRS KALANGO, OTHERS RECEIVE PRIZES AT THE GABRIEL OKARA LITERARY FESTIVAL

Mrs Koko Kalango (Founder, Rainbow Book Club and Project Director UNESCO World Book Capital2014) receiving a lifetime achievement award for promoting a reading culture in Nigeria from the Institute of Arts and Culture, University of Port Harcourt during the Gabriel Okara Literary Festival which held at the University of Port Harcourt on the 27th of April, 2017.

 

The maiden edition of the Gabriel Okara Literary Festival rounded up with an award/dinner night where individuals who have contributed to the literary life of Port Harcourt and Nigeria were honoured.
Awardees were:

Former Governor Amaechi, for promoting literature in Rivers State and Nigeria.

Governor Wike, for promoting education in Rivers State and Nigeria

Governor Dickson, for supporting the arts in Bayelsa State and Nigeria.

Mrs Koko Kalango, Founder Rainbow Book Club, for promoting a reading culture in Nigeria.

Mr. INC Aniebo for excellence in writing

Mr. Lindsay Barrett for excellence in creative writing

Elder Comish Ekiye for excellence in creative writing

His Royal Highness King Christian Atani Okkpofaa Otobotekere for excellence in creative writing.

Dr. Kudo Eresia-Eke for excellence in creative writing

Capt. Elechi Amadi for excellence in creative writing

Mr. Oronto Douglas for promoting a reading culture in Bayelsa State and Nigeria

Professor Elijah Tamuno Iyagba for supporting the arts.
